Our colourful medication trays can help suitable patients, carers and care settings manage routine medicines in a clearer and more organised way.

They may be helpful where extra support is needed with day-to-day medicines, but not all medicines are suitable for trays.

Before starting, our team will review whether a tray is appropriate and explain the best way to manage your medicines.

Medication tray support may be helpful if:

  • you take several regular medicines
  • you sometimes find it difficult to keep track of doses
  • a carer or family member helps with your medicines
  • you want your routine medicines organised more clearly
  • you would like friendly pharmacy support before deciding

We assess whether a tray is suitable before starting.

How tray support works

Speak to our team and let us know what you are finding difficult with your medicines.
  • We assess suitability
We review whether a medication tray is appropriate for your medicines and circumstances.
  • We agree the best supply method
Where suitable, medicines may be supplied in a tray. Where a tray is not suitable, original-pack supply may be used instead.
  • We support ongoing routines
Once set up, we can support repeat prescription arrangements, delivery and clear communication with you or your carer.

Important to know

Medication trays are not suitable for every person or every medicine.

Before starting a tray service, we assess the patient’s needs and the medicines involved. Some items may still need to be supplied in original packs because of stability, packaging, formulation or other clinical considerations.

Our aim is to provide medicines support that is safe, practical and appropriate for the individual patient or care setting.
